The Pharmacist Is In

This experiential idea for Shudder involves setting up small, eerie “pharmacy” booths near newspaper stands and broadcasting buildings where major news networks like CSPAN, Fox News, and CNN operate.

At these booths, iconic horror movie monsters will be on hand to distribute "prescriptions"—codes for free Shudder trials. The idea is to offer people a way to escape the real-world horrors by immersing themselves in the thrilling world of Shudder, providing a moment of relief and entertainment in the midst of the daily news cycle.

The Sweet Sounds of Terror

The idea in-app feature provides users with a way to relieve stress through ASMR inspired by horror movies. These sounds aim to create a relaxing, immersive experience people can unwind too when they’re feeling stressed about the political landscape.

The app would feature a library of ASMR tracks that incorporate soothing sounds associated with classic horror movies. To enhance the experience, the app could include thematic visuals that complement the ASMR sounds, such as subtle animations of haunted houses, Crystal Lake, or a jack-o'lantern.

Confronting Reality

Shudder will select horror films that thematically align with significant real-world issues. This could include movies that tackle political corruption, racial tensions, class struggles, and other societal concerns. The idea is to highlight how these films reflect and comment on real-life anxieties.

By presenting these films, Shudder offers viewers a way to confront and process their real-world stresses through the lens of horror. The films provide not just entertainment, but a way to reflect on and find some relief from the issues that weigh heavily on them.
